Vision

PRIPYAT is a casual strategy game with indirect character control that revolves around building a base and exploring the game world.
The style of the game is inspired by comics.

The player character and the NPC’s are custom characters with a set of equipment slots.

By the plot of the game, the player and other characters go to various locations for research, fight the opponents and look for artifacts, then return to the base. The player equips the area in special locations - in the deep of the Exclusion Zone.

The release was planned for iOS and Android devices. The target audience is men 25+.

Development

It took a total of 180 days to develop from scratch. In 2018, we discussed the idea of creating a mobile game in the post-apocalypse setting with GSC Game World.

To start with, we
• Did market research.
• Put together a presentation.

After a month of negotiations, we did not manage to establish cooperation with GSC Game World. We decided to use the materials we had for launching a campaign on Kickstarter.

As we were getting ready to launch the product on Kickstarter we:
• Drafted several concepts.
• Made 2D-animated sprite characters.
• Involved an expert for market research.
• Created realistic animation for battle scenes.
• Prepared the advertising campaign for Kickstarter.
• Worked on the backstory and the plot of the game.
• Consulted with the game designer who worked on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
• Made a demo version of the game on Unity for Android and iOS.
